Peer-reviewed journal articles are evaluated and critiqued by researchers and experts in the field before being published. They are high quality academic sources of information.

The China Quarterly

The China Quarterly is a leading peer-reviewed scholarly journal, covering all aspects of contemporary China, including Taiwan. This journal's interdisciplinary approach covers a range of subjects including the social sciences, law, history, media, literature and the arts. Using a triple-anonymous peer review process, The China Quarterly publishes high-quality, empirically rich and theoretically grounded research. The China Quarterly provides readers with in-depth analyses and a deeper understanding of China. In addition to research articles and shorter research reports, each issue contains a comprehensive book reviews section (Provided by Publisher).

The University of Manchester Library provides full access to this journal from 1960 (Volume 1, Issue 1) to the present day.

Google Scholar

Google Scholar can be a useful tool to use when searching for journal articles. However, it's important to be aware that Google Scholar will return results for articles, journals and other resources that the Library doesn't necessarily subscribe to and which you might not have free access to as a student at the University of Manchester.
