  • Dialnet is a Spanish database that indexes scholarly journal articles, book chapters, theses and monographs published in Spain. Subject coverage includes the humanities, sciences, and social sciences. There are a growing number of full-text articles available as content is continuously updated. English language search is available.
  • The CIA World Factbook: Spain provides fundamental information and statistics about Spain.
  • Universia provides access to a vast amount of information on Hispanic and Latin American universities, departments, courses, research and student life as well as information about on-line courses, materials and libraries, video-conferences, daily news on developments in Hispanic and Latin American higher education and research, forums and blogs. 
  • Red Iris gives links to Spanish universities' websites.
  • Academic Info: Spanish Language has links to sites which include Spanish language tutorials, dictionaries and newspapers.
  • España al desnudo is a useful resource, especially strong on links to official and governmental organizations.
  • The Ethnologue Database of languages of the world includes information about the languages of Spain.
  • La Página del Idioma Español is a regularly updated page on developments relating to the Spanish language.
  • Tecla is an electronic magazine written for learners and teachers of Spanish and published by the Consejería de Educación, Embajada de España en Londres. It is produced monthly during term-time and covers different levels of language ability.
  • Johns Hopkins University has a useful list of e-resources in the Hispanic field.
  • Santa Barbara City College - Spanish Department provides a comprehensive and well organised collection of links relevant to the language, literature,culture, current affairs, and geography, of Spain and Spanish-speaking countries.
  • Sí, Spain is maintained by the Embassy of Spain in Ottawa (Canada). The service provides basic and updated reference information on Spanish current affairs, language, history, and culture, and includes an organised collection of links to the web sites relevant to Spain and its culture.
  • Specifically for the Medieval Period, the following are available:-
    • The Internet Medieval Sourcebook is maintained at Fordham University in the USA and provides links to electronic texts, and other materials relating to Medieval Iberia.
    • Medieval Iberia is maintained at the Labyrinth; a web server for Medieval Studies which is sponsored by Georgetown University.
  • ACLAIIR: Advisory Council on Latin American and Iberian Information Resources exists as a forum for librarians in the UK with interests in the Hispanic world.
  • ACIS (The Association for Contemporary Iberian Studies) is a forum for academics interested in Iberian studies.
  • Canning House is the home of the Hispanic and Luso-Brazilian Councils, in London.
  • The Gulbenkian Foundation is a great benefactor of the arts and literature in Portugal and around the world.
  • The Instituto Camões is Portugal's equivalent of the British Council- its official cultural organization.
  • Instituto Cervantes is a Spanish cultural organisation with a branch and a library in Manchester.

  • Portuguese Home Page is generally considered the "official" home page for Portugal, and is maintained at the Universidade do Minho. The service provides a comprehensive and well organised collection of links to information about Portugal and its culture.
  • A collection of  Portuguese news and media resources is maintained atSAPO, Servidor de Apontadores Portugueses, which also provides a well organised and extensive collection of links to information about Portugal.
  • The Portuguese National Library has an excellent site, which allows a catalogue search but also includes a growing digital library comprising complete texts of many Portuguese classics..
  • Mundocultural has an extensive library of electronic versions of Portuguese literary texts.
  • The News is Portugal's English-language newspaper.
  • Portugal Post English-language news website.
  • RTP is the main Portuguese television company and its site includes replays of the  station's regular news bulletins.

  • Asturies is an electronic newspaper with numerous website pages covering the Asturian language and culture.
  • Asturnews is a digital newspaper covering the Asturian language and culture.
  • Biblioteca Digital Vasca contains thousands of digitized titles in Basque or in other languages but related to Basque culture.
  • Euskadi is the Basque government website.
  • The Ethnologue Database provides information about all of the languages of Spain, including the Catalan language.
  • The  Lincaweb site has links to many Catalan cultural and literary web-pages.
  • Vilaweb is an extensive resource of links and information on Catalan subjects.
  • Galego is a useful starting point for those interested in the Galician language of N.W. Spain.
  • Galician Language Introductory Page is a linguistic resource that is maintained at the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela.
