Medical databases

Medline
Medline is one of the most important biomedical databases. It is produced by the National Library of Medicine (USA) and covers the contents of over 3,000 medical, dental and nursing journals.

It corresponds to the printed sources Index Medicus, Index to Dental Literature and International Nursing Index, which can be used to trace older literature. The National Library of Medicine provides free access to Medline via the PubMed service.
Embase
Is the European equivalent of Medline, and corresponds to the paper publication Excerpta Medica.

How do I access my reading list?

You can access your course reading lists in Blackboard. Log in via MyManchester, then click the ‘Reading Lists Online’ link in the left-hand menu to see your lists, or use the link below:

How to access Library Search?

University of Manchester staff and students can access Library Search through My Manchester or through the Library website (if going via the Library website you should sign in to Library Search to ensure that you can view all resources including those restricted to University staff and students).

Non-University of Manchester staff and students can access Library Search through the Library website as a guest user and can search for all resources with the exception of some records from Primo Central which are restricted for reasons of copyright.
